Love Pat, but the problem is there is no "there" with the Republican Party. The lack of ideological coherence, the belief in something beyond campaign contributions, is lacking on the conservative side.

At least Bill Ayers and his side have Marx et al to hold on to. it's been discredited, but it promises a coherent world view. At this point the Republicans believe in nothing.

That's what made Gingrich so successful in '94. He could at least wave the Contract with America. Regan was the last Republican with a world vision. Palin has the populist appeal, but no belief system, beyond her appeal to American Common Sense, as quoted by VDH.

I know what I'm against, but there's alternative to be "for" yet. We need a leader, and it can't be a technocrat like Romney. Obama is a third rate, affirmative action academic, raised in the radical left hothouse of elite education.

When you take the reverb off the speeches, he's a boring law school teacher who drones on and on.
