Darrell, I didn't realize Intel and the chipmakers buy directly from Cymer, I thought only the stepper manufacturers bought the lasers. Any idea what the % of sales are to Intel/TI/Motorola vs Nikon/Canon/etc.? Thanks

Darrell: We had the "95% market share" discussion way-way-way back when, but the best we could figure was that the 95% number must include companies that develop their own laser systems internally as part of the total universe of lasers for lithography purposes (even though these systems will not likely ever be on the market). Since this was so long ago, and Cymer has delivered so many systems since then, it WOULD seem that some number larger than 95% would be more accurate now. The only bad thing about such a monopolistic figure is that it has nowhere to go but down--and you know how those anal-ists are about declining market share figures, even if they're still in the high double-digits.
