That's why the cases were so shocking.

Most people just think it sounds 'wrong' and unfair. (And assume that 'the law' would be on the side of the rape victims.)

But, apparently not.

The contractors were arguing that there was no 'law' (since not military personnel, military justice does not apply), and since on the other-side of the world American police have no writ there, and since they had every employee sign an 'employment contract' that *mandated* "arbitration" instead of access to the courts... they believed themselves legally in the 'right' to act as they did....
