Volcker is in his 80's.

Anything he is doing now is IMHO motivated by the wish to do good for the country.

I was there in the 70's, and even though I was gold invested, I believe he did the right thing at that time.

However, given the amount of debt I am not sure that particular policy would work at this time.

His main emphasis at this time is splitting the domestic banking function from the investment banking function, the former to be federally insured, the later to live or die on its own.

I believe he is very much right on this, and to avoid a wash and repeat of 2008, we need to follow his advise.
