Hi Christine, I guess I need to clarify flounder gigging one more time. Flounder are born swimming upright like any normal fish until they are about an inch long, at which time they begin leaning to the right (like some of our posters here)more and more until at about 2 inches they are swimming on their side, and their right eye has migrated over to join the left eye. However they spend most of their life lying on the bottom trying to disguise themselves with their surroundings, in order to ambush an unsuspecting prey. Once in a while they come into shallow water, especially when they are migrating to the Gulf. I go out at night with an underwater light and walk and walk until I come upon one lying there, at which time I stick it with my 2 prong gig and chant an old Indian ceremonial phrase, "gotcha". I have been thinking about Briana resisting shoplifting with her girlfriends. If she won't think it too smarmy, tell her that I am another who is pleased by her actions. Of course she couldn't squeal on them or she would forever be an outcast. I am curious, have her religious beliefs followed along your lines, or is she undecided, or what? You have obviously instilled good Pagan moral values into her. Do you discuss the various religions with her? I spent time reading Bible passages to my son that the preachers always seem to skip over, and he has rejected it as mythology. I tried to teach him to be moral simply because it is the right thing to do. I have told him that the most important rule is to treat others as you want them to treat you like Confucius taught more than 500 years before Christ was born. Del
