Of course this won't happen. If anything, our system will continue to devolve into even more of an "American Idol" type system, where candidates like Sarah Palin ( the (R)'s 2012 front runner ) are the norm.

From your POV, Romney was by far the candidate of choice last time. But, he just survived the (R) primary process for a few months. On the other side, Hillary had the experience.
