Did I say it was harmless? I just said it was less radioactive that NATURAL Uranium, which contains more U-235.

And btw, those restrictions are in place as a prophylactic measure (so far as I recall from my time in Iraq).

We had a couple of T-72 tanks that had been "perforated" by 30mm DU rounds from A-10s at our base. They told us the same thing about avoiding exposure "just in case".
