How boring, staid, one would think, the life of bankers would be. Not so.

Rather new, get a hold of " The Lords of Finance ( The Bankers who Broke the World )." by Liaquat Ahamed. Talk about surreal lives: all full of egotism, OCD, jingoism, and other peculiarities I would not mention in this polite society. Book delineates the Geitner/Bernake types that ruled the flow of francs, marks, dollars and pounds.
What was finagled in '29 and led to it wasn't the same , as we know, as ours, but ours pales in comparison. In hindsight, scary.
