You got it. We're mired in an endless war with Al Qaeda and now in Afghanistan, spending hundreds of billions on nothing with no return. And we're making stupid mistake after stupid mistake here at home, like bailing out GM, spending hundreds of billions on welfare, a trillion on Iraq, and borrowing money from China to give tax cuts and stimulus to Americans who turn around and spend it on more Chinese goods. You bet, we're going to hell in a handbasket, and fast.

Meanwhile, China is focusing 100% on their economy and securing the next generation's energy technology, while we dither. There is no question in my mind that we are in decline and China is in the ascendancy. It is unbelievably frustrating for me to watch.

Also, I agree with you on natural gas. That's a no brainer. It's clean and it's abundant. I'd love to see all cars on the road be electric-natural gas hybrids, with the electricity being powered predominantly by nukes and natural gas. All it takes is will power, inspired leadership, and the desire to spend American dollars on Americans instead of on the rest of the world. However, we certainly didn't have that combination during the Bush/GOP administration, and I don't see it in our leadership now.

So in summary, we're f__ked. We'd better all make sure our kids know how to speak Mandarin. Because that will be the next century's language of business.
