I can't speak for Neeka, but my family gave a collective WOW about those dumplings. Only complaint, from my spousal unit, was they were almost too sweet. Next time (New Year's?) I might cut way back on the sugar. Maybe brush them with butter before baking, sprinkle cinnamon and then a light dusting of sugar?

The boys said it was the best dessert I'd ever made. I have some left that I keep picking at. It is quite sweet and will probably reduce butter and sugar next time I make it, but certainly add the Mt. Dew. I sure wish I'd thought it up........would make a great entry for the Pillsbury Bake Off. Maybe that is where it is from originally?
