How you can think that our support of Israel has no part in this is quite amazing.

I think the entire issue of Israel existing in the Mid-East has been INTENTIONALLY blown out of proportion by racial hatred and those cynical Arab/Muslim leaders who have used the Palestinians as PAWNS in their own schemes for power.

Listen.. up to a million Jews were expelled from Arab countries and their property confiscated, but where's the international outcry?

But do the Israelis make return of those properties a condition for any future peace treaty? No.

And when Arabs claim that Israel is a foreign imposed state, they forget that ALMOST EVERY ARAB STATE was carved from the remnants of the Ottoman (or European) empires. Their borders are every bit as artificial and arbitrary as Israel's.

And you know something else? If the Jews bore the same kind of historical hatred for Muslims, they'd feel just as completely justified in recapturing their ancestral homeland from the grip of foreign invaders.

I still wonder why someone as fervent about militant islam as yourself focuses so little on the source of the majority of it.....Saudi Arabia.

Actually, I totally agree that we need to pressure the Saudis even more to contain and neutralize the militant fanatics in their midst. Tell them that if they don't do it, we will.

And if the Saudis cannot control their Wahhabist elements, then I'm fully in favor of approaching the Jordanians for a restoration of the Hashimite kingdom and implementation of a constitutional monarchy and parliament (over time).

I don't trust the Saudis. But neither do I want to give the militants the ultimate Casus Belli of saying the Muslim Holy Sites are occupied by Crusaders.

Remember, the US only goes where they are invited, or the sovereign government approves of our presence. That's why we have SOFA agreements so we're never accused of "occupying" a country. It also protects our servicemen serving in these countries.
