I'm not tracking the conversation owing to a death in the family, but if you're talking about the passengers who jumped the terrorist who was trying to blow up the NWA flight, I noticed a similar event reported in your favorite newspaper, the Spokesman Review.

A fellow in Coeur d'Alene, supposedly a businessman, started shooting. He shot two men, but bystanders jumped him and pinned him down until cops arrived.

I'm sure you're familiar with the territory. Here's a link to an article on the event. It looks like he got a fat lip. I hope the active bystanders do not suffer the Navy Seal syndrome.
