yes, the courts certainly worked to resolve a crisis without bloodshed, and that is precisely the outcome we want, unlike what occurs in other countries. However, that same consortium of newspapers stated that there was statistical evidence that showed that over 75,000 ballots where discounted for Gore and 29,000 for Bush because of voters voting for more than one candidate, because of the confusing ballot.

I retract my statement that it was stolen. That was too harsh. However, I stand by my thought that if true voter intentions were manifested in the vote, Gore would have been President. The system overall did not work as intended. Get rid of the electoral vote and go to a popular vote and you can eliminate at least a decent amount of manipulation of outcomes.
