I'm with UW on the success of this attempted attack is really with our attention being focused on air travel. There's no way that the Ft Hood attack and Flight 253 attempt are all they have planned after 8 years. and like you say, anything that causes fear and interrupts our willingness to travel is a win for the terrorists. Hopefully Obamapolitano figures out that the "mimicking a wounded animal" approach to fighting terrorism isn't working out.
