Volcker ended that: On the front Row Ford Galaxie and the Maverick.

Paul Volcker ended the first run we were having as Brazil was skyrocketing on the 70s.

We were importing the engines and transmissions for the Maverick.

Galaxies were gas guzzlers that Oil Shock would kill anyway.

You have to note also that the two oil shocks of the 70s were concocted by the British as they discovered the North Sea oil.

High oil prices cushioned the British return to Third World for two decades.

Now the British return to third world is unstoppable.

A few more shots of last Sunday. Ford and GM were fighting neck to neck late 70s. Ford introduced the Maverick and GM brought the European model to compete. (not on display last Sunday)

Ford was winning. The quality was better and had more appeal.
