SB, i agree that most religious folks believe some crazy stuff... but i do take some issue that the jesus of the bible is protected by these people. i haven't seen a single person who remotely resembles or even teaches what jesus taught on planet earth. instead, i see people using jesus as another tool to increase their power and standing within society - and to selfishly "get some salvation." no wonder jesus said... Mark 13:6 - For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. there is a lot of wisdom in the bible that modern society still doesn't understand or comprehend (AND NEVER WILL SHORT OF DIVINE INTERVENTION). 1. care for others as yourself or live in misery. 2. money is a root of evil (banksters, anyone?). 3. how did the bible handle debt? this is quite apropos given the debt WMD faced by america. while it is true that one can't disprove god, one absolutely can disprove the god of the bible... live together peacefully, end poverty, create a utopia... and the god of the bible will be proved wrong. it won't happen, though. this should be obvious to a 100% certainty by now.

if i tell you i have a friend who is all knowing, all seeing, sits in the sky AND talks to me... complete with a circus entourage including a mother who is a virgin, and her son a messiah no less who came, saved the world, resurrected from the dead went back home (heaven) and is a member of a trilogy of gods, yet they are all one (and it is not a rock band)... you had me committed to the nut house.... yet you have an entire organization headed by a cone-head hatted individual elected for life to overlord them and dictate how life should be lived.... his predecessors had entire armies to go fight the "infidels" or had commissions of murderers to rule over natives of other lands (inquisition) and yet, they claim that it is all part of preaching "love" -lol AND PEOPLE BELIEVE THEM ! but again.... that is almost nothing compared to the power of the united states congress, who year in and year out lie to those who put them there... and people still continue to vote for them.... with NO miracles to speak of.... and in an era that communications are not a problem and information can travel at the speed of light.... they still get re-elected.... yet... people are more interested in the sex life of a single athlete for who knows what reason.... the fact that he is a good golfer, (better than most) or has made millions upon millions.... and what ? he is supposed to be a monk ? yeah, if he is that horny, should not have married... but that is HIS personal decision... it does not affect ME... whereas the deeds of the politicos DO affect me and the promises they continue to make defy logic... i suppose that collectively speaking we got our due... the important point now is.... what do we do from here....?? what can we do as individuals to shield us from future damage...? as for the dog thing.... -lol... it has become an amusing thing since there is nothing i can do to sway them from their idiocy.... Consider the six days of Genesis as a figure of speech for what has in fact been 4 billion years. On this scale, one day equals something like six hundred and sixty-six million years, and thus, all day Monday and until Tuesday noon, creation was busy getting the world going. Life began Tuesday noon, and the beautiful organic wholeness of it developed over the next four days. At 4 pm Saturday, the big reptiles came on. Five hours later, when the redwoods appeared, there were no more big reptiles. At three minutes before midnight on the last day, man appeared. At one-fourth of a second before midnight, Christ arrived. At one-fortieth of a second before midnight, the Industrial Revolution began.
