Well, we all work at our own speed. While I did haunt the halls at all hours, it was largely due to the fact that Peter in Margaret Sellers lab and I had a penny pitching contest that ran for years.

From what I've read, amphetamines only make you think you are doing great work. Nicotine and caffeine I believe are the only drugs that have proven to be effective at improving performance on some (mundane) tests.

These days, I'm pretty sure Provigil could reduce time-to-thesis-completion (TtTC) though. But with the ease-of-distraction ever rising (Youtube etc.) I have to believe TtTCs must be lengthening.
