Louis L'Amour's novel Hondo described how a dog was trained to alert to the presence of a certain class of people by hiring one of them to beat the dog repeatedly. After that experience the dog could smell one from a mile off.

One wonders if dogs trained in a like manner might lower the terrorist incident rate. Just have a good guy put on explosive panties under his protective suit and train the dog to tear into him. Then put one dog at every door into every airport.
