At present the US government is printing paper money like mad. Volker is around but nobody is paying attention to him. At the very least the US dollar must decrease in value considerably. So gold will also rise. It might be boring and slow but rise it MUST. The only question is whether gold outdoes other commodities or merely keeps pace with them.

hello haim, i just tallied my domestic helper's savings a/c under management with me. we pay her extra 2 month's pay every 12 months, but into a/c she cannot give away to wastrel relatives.

her a/c was invested 50/50 in pure gold and solid platinum at end of 2007, is up 69% during 2008, and her current year bonus will be split 50/50 in pure silver and solid gold

i do not charge her the customary 1/10 or the more usual 2/20, because both seem too much for the effort of keeping simple faith ;0)

cheers, tj
