I would say rather that "the benefits to be derived are not economic". "Not just economic", implies that there are economic benefits.

Do you think that if every country had done like Brazil oil would be trading at $80 per barrel? Do you think if the US had done like Brazil our trade deficit would be as high as it is? In my mind, these are economic issues that can lead to economic benefits.
