Damn, we need to get some liberals in the CIA. These wingers don't have a clue.

AP: Bomber in CIA attack was not searched

Intelligence official says the man was being courted as possible informant

KABUL - The suicide bomber who killed seven CIA employees at a remote outpost in southeastern Afghanistan had been invited onto the base and had not been searched, two former U.S. officials told The Associated Press on Thursday.

A former senior intelligence official says the man was being courted as an informant and that it was the first time he had been brought inside the camp. An experienced CIA debriefer came from Kabul for the meeting, suggesting that the purpose was to gain intelligence, the official said.

The former intelligence official and another former official with knowledge of the attack spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Invading a Muslim country (that didn't attack us and didn't threaten us) in no way helped us with worldwide Islam, and recruited millions more extremists and sympathizers than it eliminated, who weren't living in Iraq anyway, one of the most moderate Muslim countries, until we invaded..

This is the real question, isn't it.

It seems Dick Cheney, the most hated man in America, was dead-on. After bringing democracy to Iraq, Libya gives up its WMD programs, SPECIFICALLY after watching Saddam being dug out of a hole in Iraq. Druze leaders in Lebanon specifically point to Iraq as an "eye-opener" for them. Iranian people take to the streets in multiple uprisings, in pursuit of their freedom.

And all we can do is say, "I told you so". When I said this would happen on this thread I was ridiculed by you, tejek, and others. We were clearly right. Of course, right on cue, Obama tried to take credit for his naive speech in Egypt causing it, an unbelievably absurd and arrogant claim. Of course, you see it as another coincidence; we told you this up front, it is now happening, and it is all happenstance.

Now, we've heard for years about how Iraq was a "recruitment tool". Yet, you tell us, "There are only 100 AQ in Afg. now" (an utterly ridiculous remark, for sure). There is not, and never has been, one shred of evidence to suggest that our presence in Iraq "recruited" AQ members. It certainly caused a significant number to move from Afg. to Iraq where they were killed, however.
