Ain't no other way you're ever going to see the federal deficit REDUCED....

(And... what in tarnation do you think is a violation of "checks and balances" about the idea of a bipartisan deficit commission to suggest ways to reduce our massive deficits??????? ESPECIALLY since Congress would both CREATE and AUTHORIZE the commission, and only AGREE to give it's recommendations a straightforward up or down vote --- without picking the recommendations apart by amendment....)

That is *exactly* the way that the military base closing commissions have worked in the past (bipartisan, up or down, take-it-or-leave-it vote). 'Cause WITHOUT such a system nothing ever happens (and the Congressmen always seem to sacrifice the general public good for the narrow interests of their own areas.)

Sounds like a damn fine idea to me!
