This, clearly, was an attempt by the Obama administration to whitewash what had happened. Honestly, I can overlook these semantic stumbles if they get the important stuff right. Unfortunately, they foolishly charged the man with a crime rather than turning him over to the CIA for a proper interrogation. We'll have to wait and see whether they can correct the bureaucratic snafus.
