<After the incident, the State Dept required the accused to provide a statement concerning the events.>

This ploy is often used to grant de facto immunity of the accused from further prosecution. All they need to do is state what really happened, and they are absolved from prosecution on anything they state. It has in the past been used by government officials and government witnesses to protect themselves, but heretofore never by third parties such as contractors as far as I know.

In regards to the Blackwater incident, allegedly senior Justice Dept. officials "advised" the appointed prosecutors not to do what they did.
This provides plausible denialbility to the Justice Dept.:

Not their fault after that. Apparently, the testimony of one soldier who previously plead guilty to manslaughter was not emphasized by the prosecution.
It is enough for the government to retry the case. I bet they don't.

I saw no reference to any Iraqi national being called to witness. Why not ? The prosecution was a sham from the start, and every single step was intentional.

In 2010, Economy Again to Crowd Domestic Stage. Bush stimulate and saved banks trying to help Republicans hold to the Wite House.

Now is Obama's turn:

Here are the numbers to watch: Can Republicans pick up the 40 House seats and 10 Senate seats needed to recapture control of either chamber, or the two additional governor's seats needed to capture a majority there?

How About The Dollar?

As we've seen with this selection of charts so far, the bearish signs in just about every sector are ominous.

But check out the prospects for the U.S. Dollar as visualized by UUP (the PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish Fund)...
