the true threat to this nation is not al qaeda. the true threat to this nation are the banking oligarchs and our mercenaries in government. It might be wise to rethink your premise. Banking oligarchs and government mercenaries are dedicated to increasing their power, particularly internationally. Al Qaida, and their other Muslim Militants are dedicated to destroying that, as well as every vestige of Democracy on this planet. There's going to be no where to hide if these fanatics manage to obtain biological or chemical weapons. And lord help us all if they manage to get a nuke, and a rocket to launch it on. One nuke ignited over the continental US will unleash an EMP pulse that will destroy a huge part of our electronic infrastructure. Such an event will make 9/11 look like a snowball fight. And it will make the economic crisis of last year look like a tea party. Thus, regardless of how we agree that we have corporate and financial forces that have gotten out of control, we have the political means to defeat them, if we muster the will to do so as a people. But Islamic Militants? You have to defeat them physically and morally. And you have to do it on THEIR HOME TURF, where Muslim is pitted against Muslim, Moderate/Progressives against Militants. the reason that al qaeda and other muslims have a strong tendency to hate americans is we finance their enemies and finance the deaths of their peoples. Dude... you're an infidel!! Just like I am.. (and I'm not Jewish). WE'RE ALREADY THEIR ENEMIES BECAUSE WE'RE NOT MUSLIMS!! They cannot make peace with "unbelievers" only conquer and subjugate them. The best we can hope for under their rule is "Dhimmitude". I know it sounds alarmist, if not surreal. It was hard for me to believe and understand it when I first became aware of the extent of it's influence in the Muslim world almost 20 years ago. But Skeeter.. I'm just the messenger here. THEY MAKE NO SECRET OF WHAT THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR. It's not just Muslims against Jews. Even PROMINENT Hamas leaders are publicly stating they are pledged to wage Jihad against Europe and the "Two Americas": youtube.com And Hamas is using a concerted indoctrination broadcasting program to brainwash their children to carry on the Jihad. This is similar to the brainwashing going on in the Madrassas of Pakistan and Afghanistan. investigativeproject.org the more arabs killed by american dollars, the more they will appreciate us? that's bassackward logic only someone emotionally or financially attached to the military industrial complex could choke down. Stop being so myopic. It's not killing them that's the goal, it's unleashing human rights, social progress, economic opportunity, and political and religious tolerance. AGAIN.. the MAJORITY OF MUSLIMS are peaceful. MORE MUSLIMS HAVE DIED AT THE HANDS OF THESE MILITANTS THAN HAVE WESTERNERS. 105 Pakistanis died just the other day. Hundreds of other Muslims are dying every couple of months... THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING WHEN IT ASSERT THAT THIS IS A CIVIL WAR BETWEEN THE FORCES OF ISLAMIC MODERATION AND ISLAMIC MILITANCY. I don't know how to make it any clearer. They have to wage the ULTIMATE FIGHT for themselves. But they have to know that the price they pay will be worth it. They have to know that the West will welcome them into the economic system. That those hundreds of millions of Muslims who are under 25-30 years of age have an economic opportunity.. They aren't stupid. They know there is tremendous hypocrisy within their religion and culture just as our young people recognize it within ours. But if you know that you're going to be hauled before a religious kangaroo court, charged with being a heretic/collaborator, and beheaded, you're going to keep your mouth shut, and/or flee. No different in Nazi Germany and it would be no different here in the US were our own Religious Right able to seize power and turn this country into the "New Crusaders". We'd all better be seeking to avoid this. They are playing a "long game" and preparing their children to wage Jihad on ours. I'm merely looking for a couple of ounces of prevention that might prevent our having to apply a pound (ton?) of cure years from now. Again.. look at the demographics my friend. We're not even replacing our population. The Arab world is growing at an average of 3%, but economically they are in even worse condition that we are. You want an analogy? Well look no further than Mexico. Back in 1989, about 50% of their population was under 14 years of age. And now we've got about 10% of Mexico living here in the US. Now think about what would be happening if they were training all of their children to wage a "Forever War" on the US to convert us all to Catholicism? (not that I have a problem with Catholocism.. ;0) This is serious stuff but so many people, like yourself, choose to just ignore it as some kind of science fiction. I truly wish it was science fiction. But it's not.. It's real and people are going to die, both Muslims and "infidels" in large quantities if we don't contain it and provide economic and political alternatives. Hawk
