Lindy, The public participates in protecting us at their risk. I simply cannot wait for someone to be sued by a terrorist for stopping him. We only need to look at the case of the Flying Imams. They were imo clearly doing things to scare passengers and attract disciplinary action. Yet - what happened? The airline had to pay off. Crap like this nonsense tells us all we need to know about how political correctness is dooming us to some future disaster. Those Imams should have been told their behavior was provocative they were lucky they got off as easy as they did. Instead - they get a pay off. We are governed by fools and on the road to ruin. Bob

Put hardwired Taser guns in every 10th plane seat which become operational only after the captain has thrown a switch in the cockpit. 2. Train and qualify frequent flyer volunteers in the effective use of Tasers (getting volunteers would be like shooting fish in a barrel). 3. At check-in issue Tasers to qualified passengers who wish to carry. They plug into the system after taking their seats. 4. Most Important: Use profiling, tons of politically incorrect profiling, to keep Tasers out of the hands of potential "man-caused disaster" perps, formerly known as terrorists. (Yes, I know what you're thinking - Pres. Barry would never be issued a Taser, but so be it.) 5. Upon next incident, flip the switch and let the fun begin. Yes, some innocent people could get zapped but again, so be it. Every one of them will hopefully live to tell the story to their grandchildren. This is my five minute solution to "flight attendants can't be everywhere at once". Obviously, the passengers can be, so use them. Deterence isn't just for nuclear war. Feel free to refine this "brilliant" idea or tear it to pieces if you wish. But I can dream, can't I?
