I thought DELL was loaded for a short but the broker said filled long. Did I miss something?

< I owe my trading success to that office of Block Trading, and in a way, to that INC magazine article. >

Wonder if that Stephanie Clark is still trading. Per the article she was doing well back then and had formerly been a secretary for Oppenheimer.

I'm kind of intrigued as to who has made it over the longer term and what traders who were doing well washed out. Reasons? Lack of adaptation to changing markets? System quit working? Used on (fill in the blanks) TA, fundamentals, story stocks, ....

Although I lost contact with him we had a guy back in the 90's who could make $40K in a day. He might lose $20K the next day. Make $10K, lose $8K and so on. He seemed not terribly fazed with a big loss. I recall losing $30K over a 4 month period and had to really work to get that $$ back. I think for me the perseverance and willingness to adapt to changing markets has been the key to my surviving.
