I would worry about bullets flying around the cabin of an airplane. not only are there a bunch of people in close quarters, but a bullet piercing a pressurized fuselage wouldn't be such a great thing.

I like the idea of allowing passengers to carry tasers and even knives if they want.

I would not be a proponent of folks carrying on an airplane. Entirely to easy to shoot someone your not trying to shoot and holes in pressurized aircraft rather suck the big one. Being a huge proponent of the 2nd and concealed carry I'm not with you on this one:-)

Simply let anyone with a valid state-issued concealed weapon permit to carry a handgun concealed on aircraft.

Lots of problems to resolve:

First - since air travel crosses State lines rather often - you'd need to create a USA/federal concealed license or honor all States.

Second - due to the nature of a pressurized cabins - extra training would probably be required before having an Aircraft endorsement on your license.

Third - what if it's a long flight and you want to take a nap - do you need to lockup your firearm - will the airlines provide storage?

PS: I'd be happy if we could make progress on the crossing State lines issue.
