I had a few really sharp teachers. My kids have had a few really sharp teachers. My son's Godbrother is an overachiever (Eagle Scout, 2nd degree TKD blackbelt at 13, etc.) and he decided he wants to be a teacher (he is in college now). You are correct that there are plenty in the profession that couldn't make it in the business community. There is an old saying: "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. and then: Those who can't teach work for the government." The addendum especially seems to be true.
