I agree with you. 2800 for being out of gas because of poor diagnostic skills by a mechanic is absurd. I was a mechanic 30 years ago and back then we were mechanics, not part changers. You need 3 things for an engine to run, spark, compression and fuel. Fuel is the only issue on a diesel assuming it has compression. If your not getting fuel you start easy and work to hard. First rule of not getting fuel is, does the vehicle have fuel. They bypassed all of that and went right to the complicated and expensive stuff. Absurd.
