So they could only get him on lying about his association with Abramoff. Which you seem to think was a minor thing.

You are continually bringing up Abramoff as though he is some scourge on the Bush administration. However, literally 88.9% of the members of the Senate Democrat Caucus received money from Abramoff.

Now, unlike liberals, I don't find this to be an excuse for anything that was done. But it is important to note that Abramaoff was well acquainted with members on BOTH sides of the aisle. I'll agree that Republicans were more deeply involved in THIS PARTICULAR INCIDENT than were Democrats. But it was Democrats, NOT REPUBLICANS, who received low-interest loans from Countrywide, who were implicated in the Keating 5 mess, etc.

I don't think a mere "association" with Abramoff is any more damning than a mere "association" with Ayers, which you seem to have to problem about.
