Tebow would be my #1 choice for a QB. This guy has him going 22nd!

-----

1. St. Louis Rams: Jimmy Clausen, QB, ND

The Rams need a new leader and now that Jake Locker is going back to school I have Jimmy Clausen as the top 2010 NFL Mock Draft QB. Look for his big arm and size to make him the top QB in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

2. Detroit Lions: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska

The Lions really need a stud LT in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft. But I don’t think they could pass on quite possibly the most dominating defensive player in the last decade. Suh is a beast in both the run and pass game and could help the Lions immediately improve their defense. Look for him to help right away in the 2010 season. I see him as the top player in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft he just drops to the 2nd pick because of a huge QB need.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Russell Okung, OT, Ok State

The Bucs could go a couple of ways with this pick. I think it is mainly between Gerald McCoy the 2nd DT in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft or Russell Okung the top rated OT in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft. I have them protecting their investment by taking a good LT in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

4. Cleveland Browns: Eric Berry, S, UT

I had the Browns taking Suh and McCoy in my past drafts. However, Eric Berry has been compared to Ed Reed and if he can be anywhere near as good as Reed it could really help the Browns secondary. I have seen a lot of 2010 NFL Mock Drafts who have the Browns taking a QB but I don’t think they can afford to take one first overall after taking Quinn in the 2007 NFL Draft. So I think Berry can be the leader of the Browns like Troy P and Ed Reed are for their respective teams.

5. Kansas City Chiefs: Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland

The Chiefs have invested in a a QB for the future so they need to protect him. Campbell is the 2nd rated OT in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft. He is a very athletic OT who could potentially be the first OT taken in the 2010 NFL Draft. I have him going 2nd because he has some injury concerns. Another option in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft for the Chiefs would be a WR because they only have Bowe and they need another weapon for Cassell to throw to. Their is not a WR that warrants to be drafted this high in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

6. Washington Redskins: Sam Bradford, QB, OU

The Redskins have been playing well the last couple of weeks in the NFL Season. However, they still don’t have a QB that can make all the throws and lead this team. I think that Sam Bradford is now the 2nd QB in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft and the Redskins would love to have him. I also think this pick is going to depend big time on which way the Redskins go with their coaching situation.

7. Buffalo Bills: Ryan Mallett, QB, ARK

The Bills have struggled at QB week after week with both QB’s. I now have them taking a very big QB with a big arm in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft. Mallett may have the biggest arm in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft and he will be able to throw in the snow with his big arm. Look for him to come in and change the Bills offense in the 2010 NFL Season.

8. Seattle Seahawks: Bryan Bulaga, T, Iowa

The Hawks haven’t had a good running game since Shaun Alexander has not been running for them. I think they need to get some big guys up front to help their pass and run game. Another option here would be a qb but I don’t think their are any available QB’s to go this high in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft. So I think Bulaga is the right pick here.

9. Denver (From Chicago): Rolando McClain, ILB, Bama

The Broncos have a very good team and McClain is a top player in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft. He is the best LB and also one of the best defensive players in this draft. I think he would come in and help the Broncos immediately. I had the Broncos taking a QB earlier in the year but Orton has been good enough to build around him and let Mcdaniels build around him and form Orton.

10. Oakland Raiders: Trent Williams, OT, OU

The Raiders need to build their team through the grunt players rather than the athletes moving forward. I have seen a lot of people have them taking a QB in their 2010 NFL Mock Draft’s but I don’t know if they can take a QB with the money they are paying Russell. They already have drafted a RB and a WR in the top 10 the last couple drafts. So I have them taking a very good OT here to protect Russell or Gradkowski whoever is their starter moving forward.

11. San Francisco 49ers(Carolina): Joe Haden, CB, Florida

The 49ers have a couple needs in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft. I think OT is their biggest need but they have two first round picks and if they wait Joe Haden will be gone. He is good enough to start right away and help their over paid corners.

12. San Francisco 49ers: Charles Brown, OT, USC

The 49ers fill their OT need with this 2nd pick in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft. Brown is a very good Tackle from a very good team. Look for him to come in and help out Alex Smith by giving him some more time to throw the ball.

13. Houston Texans: Earl Thomas, S, Texas

The Texans are a very streaky team in the NFL. Earl Thomas is a Texas guy who is a very good Safety in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft. I think the Texans could use a very good safety to help their defense in the 2010 NFL Season.

14. Tennessee Titans: Derrick Morgan, DE, GT

The Titans need to have a good 2010 NFL Mock Draft because they have the potential to be a very good team. They do have some defensive end contracts expiring and they could also use a good LB as well. They could go after Brandon Spikes with this pick in the 2010 NFL Draft but I have them taking a very good DE out of GT in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Taylor Mays, S, USC

The Steelers have struggled a lot this year because of their secondary and their defense. Troy P has been a huge loss for them in a lot of the games so I have them taking a safety here. Mays is an athletic freak who could be a top 10 pick but under performed his senior year. Look for Mays to come in and start right away with his athleticism. I have him as a mid round pick in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft because of his athleticism.

16. NY Jets: Gerald McCoy, DT, OU

If McCoy falls to the 16th pick here in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft he will be the steal of the draft. He is a great pass and run defending DT. I think if he falls past 10 someone will trade up to get him but I don’t have trades included in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

17. Atlanta Falcons: Ras-I Dowling, CB, UVA

The Falcons have been hit or miss this year. I have them building their secondary in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft. They could go after another receiver to play opposite Roddy White but I think they go after a good athletic CB here in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

18. Miami Dolphins: Terrence Cody, DT, ‘Bama

The Dolphins snag a very good DT here in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft. Cody is a great run stopper and could help out any team to stop the run. This 2010 NFL Draft has a lot of good DT’s and Cody is the best run stopper of the bunch.

19. Baltimore Ravens: Dez Bryant, WR, Ok State

The Ravens receivers aren’t getting any younger. Dez Bryant is the top WR in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft because of his athleticism and ability to make plays. Joe Flacco is a good QB but if you don’t give him anyone to throw to how can he be a good QB.

20. NY Giants: CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson

I see Spiller as the top most versatile RB in the 2010 NFL Draft. I have him going as the top RB in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft and filling in with the Giants lack of run game this year. Spiller can catch the ball out of the backfield as well as complement Brandon Jacobs very well.

21. Jacksonville Jaguars: Tim Tebow, QB, Florida

Tim Tebow is potentially one of the best college players of all time. The biggest question in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft is where Tebow will go and what position he will play in the 2010 NFL Season. I have him going to the Jags because they need some fans in the stands and he is the biggest name out of Florida in a long time. Look for him to be the talk of the 2010 NFL Mock Draft because of his unique style of play.

22. New England Patriots: Jonathan Dwyer, RB, GT

The Patriots could go after a CB hear or some player to help build their defense because they have been struggling this year. However, I have them taking a power RB here because they don’t have a true RB that can open the passing game for them. I have Dwyer as the 2nd ranked RB in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

I just read Shanahan's bio for clues to who he might pick in the draft. For some odd reason I thought he would be a Tebow guy. Given he was offensive coordinator at Florida for three years makes me think he will have a soft spot for him. I've not heard anyone in the media mention this, so you heard it here first!

As most people know, Florida uses a spread offense. I'm highly familiar with it because my older son's coach went to Florida to study it last summer with his former coaching buddy Steve Addazio-- Urban Meyer's assistant coach and the guy slated to take over for him if he "retires". The reason you don't see it much in the NFL is because the QB becomes a double threat (i.e. not just pass but run), and NFL teams are remiss to expose their QBs to free hits. Therefore, it comes down to whether Tebow can be turned into a "conventional" QB like a Peyton Manning. Supposedly he's pretty smart, having been home-schooled most of his life. I think Shanahan will take that "risk".
