.the point is that all patients receive M and MA alike receive adequate care and that there are bigger problems to be addressed in the "system".

There isn't one person in this country today who can't receive "adequate" care if they choose to do so. That's not what it is about. The idea is to provide a system that works to provide reasonable care at reasonable costs. The Socialists (that would be you) want to GIVE health care to everyone. We cannot afford that.

I am mystified by the fact that you've been wailing about the cost of Medicare and suddenly you care about potential cuts in Medicare...politics at their best I suppose.

The cuts to MA, like everything else about this legislation, are arbitrary and not well thought-out.

MA is the best Medicare has to offer and should not be eliminated. The fiscal discipline that makes Part D a success (the donut hole) is eliminated. Massive costs are dumped on the states, which very few can afford. And the very idea that Florida should get to KEEP its MA is absurd.

I don't oppose appropriate cuts in Medicare, but the REAL problem areas are untouched -- 100s of billions in fraud and abuse, the failure to address tort reform which everyone who knows anything about subject acknowledges MUST be addressed in an serious effort. Instead of addressing the essential items, they go after MA, which is among the best of the Medicare models.

The object of the "health reform bill" is not to save money. It will break the country.
