This new program is paid for.

No it isn't. Tax payers will be paying for it. The cost it impose is real and important. The fact that it raises taxes is a cost, it doesn't make the cost go away.

And the costs aren't just fiscal costs. It imposes costs all over the economy in terms of taxes and mandates.

Also even in terms of the deficit (and zero increase in the deficit does not mean it pays for itself), it isn't "paid for". Even before the cost overruns (costs have been massively above estimates for almost every federal government health care program), the program will add to the deficit.

To get "paid for" or close to that, the program counts 10 years of taxes against 6 years of fully active program costs. It also includes cuts that will almost definitely be canceled, and if any more favors to members of congress are given out, it will just make the fiscal effect of this program even worse.

The idea that this program is in anyway paid for is a joke.

Nothing is paid for as you claimed when the FED has to print money.

The way our government is spending money so recklessly, a good business contract would be maintaining the overworked printing presses.

There is a difference between then and now-----Bush was not making an attempt to totally take over the lives of citizens from birth (if they were not killed via abortion) to grave.

Very few people even now have no idea what Part D is or was.

What Americans do know is that Obamacare/Pelosi care/ and Reid care is a move to Socialized Medicine that has been tried in other nations and failed.
