Ya that error I got really spooked me and caused a lot of time to get that PC up and running. My only error in 10 years of imaging.

I have to get to the bottom of this. I hope the HDD is bad, that would solve my problem and put my mind at ease. Somethings going on to have only one error since I have been using True Image. I always run from the boot disks, it must be the hard drive causing the problems. Going to find out what HDD is in the notebook and run the manufactures HDD tests. Lenovo tests pass the drive, but they don't scan the entire disk surface. I ran a Dell HDD diag years back it took 4 hours. Lenovo's only take 20-30 minutes.

I use True Image 10, not 2010.

I'm one of those people who sang praises for Acronis at the top of my lungs. My experience with "Error 000101F4" shoved a sock into my yap instantly.

My attempts at solving this were futile. My pleas for assistance fell on deaf ears. "Official" suggestions didn't work.

Eventually, I found a cure. . .

In BIOS setup, configure my drive as RAID, even though it's not.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. The "Free" True Image that's available on the Western Digital website works without needing this unusual extra step.

Keep us posted on your Acronis experience with Windows 7. So far I've heard nothing but bad concerning Acronis and 7.

I've been a big Acronis fan for a couple of years, using it on XP...recently I backed up a friends HD using Acronis (he has XP installed)...when he went to restore the backup a few weeks ago he got repeated error messages...I verified the integrity of the back up when I did it. I didn't have a chance to troubleshoot his problem. Finally he got frustrated and reloaded XP.

Lots of moaning and groaning about Acronis lately...in real life and on the web.
