the data. the data says that the vast majority of muslim backlash are the ones forking them over the most.

What data?

There's plenty of MORE CREDIBLE DATA that this militancy is due to the OUTRIGHT POVERTY that pervades much of the Middle East and Southwest Asia. These people are largely uneducated, miserably poor, and easily manipulated into believing that the reason they don't have anything is because the "unbelievers" are oppressing them.

Of course, that doesn't explain the educated Muslims, like Muhammad Atta, and the Detroit bomber, both coming from privilege and wealth, taking on the mantra of Islamic Militancy.

If we want to change this situation to a more moderate outcome, we'd better come up with a plan of bringing these people into the global economy, not permitting to remain as outcasts.

I think the analogy to "ghetto gangs" is pretty apt. When your future already looks very bleak, you often perceive you have nothing to lose and everything to gain (at least in the afterlife) by become religiously militant.

Furthermore, we need to support secular education in these Muslim countries. And there's nothing wrong with a bit of religious training if it's peaceful. But right now children are being indoctrinated to wage Jihad and hate non-Muslims.

The Taliban says that this particular compound is not one of theirs. But they say that they are actively training children from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asia and the Middle East to be suicide bombers.

As Pakistan tries to cope with an ever increasing wave of suicide bombing, a chilling statistic is coming to light.

“Almost 90 percent of suicide bombers, if you look at their profile, are 12 to 18 years old,” Hussein says.

The war on terror expert says there also needs to be a war on poverty and a commitment to providing education and opportunity so that children in the future won’t be turned into murderers, thinking that suicide and death are their only escape from a hopeless life.

That's some data for you Skeeter.. And I'm only scratching the surface (as this is not the appropriate thread for that).

ps - why aren't these radicals attacking canada?

Good question. Aren't Canadian soldiers operating in Afghanistan?

Bottom line, there's few headlines to be made attacking Canadians. Attacking Americans, there are headlines galore.

And there's no need to attack Canada directly. Their fate will be the same as that of the US.
