you aren't arguing that these people are just randomly attacking the united states due to their poverty, do you?

I'm arguing that they can make up whatever CONVENIENT EXCUSE THEY SO DESIRE for justifying their militancy.

We're the most powerful country on the planet so we're the "lightening rod" for every fringe group that looking to cast blame (or deflect it) for their lot in life.

Do we get any credit for all the POSITIVE CHANGE we've enabled in this world?

Or maybe you happen to believe that everything we've done is evil.. ;0)

Bottom line, you might have an argument if you were defending the struggle of people who are being trampled by US corporate interests (economic exploitation.. etc). You might have a case if we were attempting to enslave some other culture.

But the people you are defending (or at least excusing) are brainwashing children to become suicide bombers. And THEY ARE KILLING MORE MUSLIMS THAN THEY ARE AMERICANS!!!

And we're trying to defend innocent civilians and give them a better shot at life (and prevent the alternative of their being radicalized).

I think of all the wars this country has been engaged in fighting, this is the most morally justifiable on strictly humanitarian grounds.

But it doesn't result in bettering the lives for the majority of these people, we've failed.
