Because they took affront at one of the arcs where the Cylons occupied New Caprica and the Colonials engaged in an underground resistance. They called foul, that it was obviously a metaphor about Iraq with the evil Cylons being the Americans. But, to anyone who didn't have the hair trigger response, it looked a lot more like Vichy France. Which Ronald D. Moore(RDM) confirmed.

Interesting take on things. Well, I still have hope the GOP will get in gear and become viable again, but they're going to have to sweep out all these bad apples. They can't remain neocon and Evangelical to the core and get back to power. It's too extreme for most people.

My Dad continues to be a hard core conservative despite everything and you know what he tells me when I complain about the GOP? He says, "Son. There is no Republican Party. They don't exist anymore."

Wow. My Dad is exactly like Brumar and i-node and the other rightwingers on this thread and he doesn't believe in the current GOP anymore. That tells you something serious about the state of that party.
