That's a staggering decline masked by the cheap credit bubble, the Federal gov't spending way beyond it's means, the dollar as the reserve currency, and imported deflation from Asia. None of those major mechanisms can continue indefinitely without a serious adjustment in the form of inflation, massive interest drag on gov't budgets, difficulty in acquiring capital for new business or even for gov't works projects.

Chances are good we'll see that 50% decline relative to other currencies in 10 years; and a 50% decline versus gold within 5 years. In my opinion anyway.
