Oh crimenee. I was hoping and wishing and praying so hard for her. Damn. Damn. Damn.

The pain is a bitch, but they will help her and she will get through this.

EVERYONE I know who has undergone a hip replacement is grateful and out of pain. It's a process to go through and Smithee, all of us here are with you and we are pulling all our strength to help you and Lynne. As if you guys haven't had your share this past year. You've already done your part. After this, it will all be good.

All you GITs out there, apply the most power you've got in the direction of Lynne and Smithee. Prayers. Hope. Positive thoughts. And all of us, come together, hold our cyper-hands together for Lynne.

best of thoughts with her. and you. and the doc that s/he does a really good job on the surgery.

It's a long recovery time and the work involved, but as Sail said, hip replacements usually turn out quite well if it comes to that... I hope the worst of it is the boredom involved during the time getting back up and walking.

Better talk to the nurses and find out what you will need at home. They give you about 3 hours notice and then tell you that you need to get a hospital bed, wheelchair ......

Boy I'm sorry to hear that. Some of the sidewalks in my neighborhood have those heaves so most people walk the road instead. I guess now I don't blame them.

Hip is quite painful and I sure hope she avoids the replacement. Though they are quite proficient at those these days and they will last the rest of her life if they do.

Oh no Smithee............so sorry to hear this. She is the second person I've heard of that has had this problem. We only have a few places in my neck of the woods with real sidewalks, and they are new. When I do walk on sidewalks, I never give a thought to tripping on crevasses or raised areas, but I sure will from now on. I hope the surgery went well, and that Lynne is resting comfortably. I don't have any advice since it has been ages since anyone I know has been in the hospital for an over nighter. I do think the hosp bed would be the best solution. That and a good light near the tv and bathroom. I'm sure you'll be doing double duty for awhile. Wish I was closer so I could help you out.

So sorry Smithee, I just read of Lynne's fall and you have my prayers for her speedy recovery. We all know Donald's passing tough and hate that she has this on top of it.
