>>We've (the developed world) permitted some very virulent economic and social situations to become "infected" within the Muslim world. We have any number of failed states and hundreds of millions of people who lack any real hope of a better life. And it's going to take considerable effort, treasure, and blood, to resolve the problem.<<

by far the biggest danger to american citizens and the world is europe and america's banking oligarchy.

in short, those in america and europe and completely supported by the governments of america and europe are the bigger danger.

are other countries justified in an effort to occupy america and europe?

would you fight such an occupation?

And let's face it, Bush/Cheney didn't do a very good job of conveying the "why we fight" argument to the American people.

They did a horrible job - mostly because they got lost in vague politically correct language. They were afraid to offend Muslims? -- I think it is a greater offense to assume that they are stupid and wouldn't understand the difference between us fighting extremists vs. us fighting Islam in general, which was never the case.

What we cannot forget is that, thus far, the largest majority of blood that has been shed has been that of innocent Muslims at the hands of Islamic Militants. HOWEVER, if we don't attempt to stave off this Islamist trend, inevitably it will be the blood of our current generation of American children being sacrificed in years to come.

Agree. If militants come to power in most - or all - of the Muslim world, the Muslims will be the ones who will suffer the most. But - we'd all be in trouble.
