Mary - I don't see why you have to hate Obama to buy the conspiracy. I don't get that connection. If you were a little dim, and heard the president wasn't born here- you might really start to believe that whole story. Not because you "hate" anyone, but because you're a bit dim, and unable to research anything. I really think we need to be wary of confusing things. And I know people always think I'm "defending" something when I get definitional- but I'm not. Conspiracies are probably just as bad as hate- but they ARE different, and they don't necessarily engender hate, or arise from it. Stupidity, or even a general blindness in one area, or a very strong religious-like wish to believe something, can do the trick- which explains why bright people sometimes go bonkers in certain areas when it comes to conspiracies. It's a quasi religious way of thinking, and while it might be connected to hate in some cases, it need not be.
