Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work. The founding fathers were self made men, businessmen, ranchers, plantation owners, etc. They had skills and jobs to go back to. In fact their businesses demanded that they do that. Our present crop of whistle dicks have never had a job so they have nothing to go home to unless they've been there long enough to have the connections to be a lobbyist and continue to be a part of the problem.
