How loyal is Obama to his people?

Hard to tell. My general take, for the moment, is that he protects folk in the inner circle but not so much outside it. Samantha Powers, for instance, was definitely not in the inner circle; may not have been in the next most inner circle; yet was let go during the campaign for saying something sort of out of bounds about Hillary Clinton.
