The one saving grace is that the Ghost program allows you to browse the contents of a backup that would be otherwise locked up in a large file. That has allowed me to restore a lot of data that I thought might have been irretrievable. The one quite acceptable result of the hassle is that I have a clean hard drive after 3 years of slowly junking it up. I'm not done with installing and restoring everything I need but that light at the end of the tunnel doesn't seem to be a train anymore. <g>
