I use this exact set up:

I run my main computer using 2 of those monitors and another machine using the other one.

I have heard of people putting more than one video card in their machine, however I have no experience at that.

Others here should be able to help.

If you are running win7 then would avoid NVIDIA until such time that NVIDIA and M$ make nice and allow nview to unpack and function on Win7.

Suggest seeking comments from ATI dual head users as their buyout seems to have ended a company history of poor/no driver support just at the time NVIDIA is going bellyup (as far as driver support goes)

Unhappily I am running an NVIDIA 9600 GT with two BenQs and the workarounds for proper duals under Win7 leave a lot to be desired.

Luck

IMHO, there are no simple answers to this question, but simple solutions abound.

I have run single, dual and quad cards from one server over the years.(no concurrently)
Currently I am running two SLi cards (same make and model) on one dual AMD server. Works great.

On my other server, I am running one VGA card w/ a dual monitor dongle (harness) Both VGA... Works fine.

There are several nice quad cards out there that would work well also. 4 outputs for one card.

Some things to think about as you look:
DVI/VGA outputs. What do you need. What do your monitors require.
I am running one server w/ a DVI-d monitor and one VGA monitor.. No problem

Motherboard slots available on your PC (some only have one high side video slot)

Resolution.. What display res do you want

Win7 compatibility.. (Google search)

Hardware compatibility (Google Search)

I suspect you will find someone that has almost identical hardware as you and has posted a complete solution already.

No need to get the latest and greatest either.. a year old card might be 50% less and be more than adequate.

jmho,
