We haven't been disappointed when we have used it. We had a great trip to Maui a couple of years ago using the timeshare. So it isn't absolutely horrible. but I hate to be tied to something with no visible exit.

My dad, who deeded the timeshare to me, actually got his money out of it. It is a floating week in Daytona Beach. He never stayed there once. He always exchanged it through RCI, often for some pretty nice places such as Williamsburg and Bermuda.

The RCI membership timeshares also allow you to get last minute deals to rent a property at reduced rates. We stayed in Scottsdale at a golf resort one night a few years back for something like $69.

Aside from the above, I have not gotten any value out of the thing. It's a millstone around my neck.
