>I'd rather not have someone who doesn't know WTF he is talking about "share the responsibility" for my own affairs, my own career, my own life. Especially when he comes barging in with intrusive policies under the slogan, "We're a f**king society, Tench."

How do I not know what I'm talking about? I know that if millions of people are suddenly unemployed, it hurts us all.

>It wasn't just a few bad quarters. It was a fundamental problem that built up over decades.

Looks like they're doing a bit better now.

>Letting GM and Chrysler go under would not have eradicated the American auto industry. That's pure fearmongering from those who think we have to "do something."

What? There are essentially only three serious auto companies in this whole country. Losing two of them would essentially eradicate the industry. How on earth not? I mean, I guess if you're speaking in 100% literal terms, but...

>Bottom line is that there is no replacement for personal responsibility. If you want to "share in the responsibility" for the Big Three's corporate welfare, go ahead and do so with your money. I have enough to worry about in high tech, and I don't need some busybody telling me I have to "share in the responsibility" for an industry that pretty much did themselves in.

Once again, our entire company is worse off when millions suddenly lose their jobs and hundreds of thousands of elderly are suddenly on the street. You don't see that?
