When a solo brokerage firm moves up the bid before the market to try to get firms to move without having to buy any stock. The object is to create an illusion that the stock is in play to get others involved. In this scenario, one market maker, a retail house made a bid before the bell, danced it up and eventually was sitting 1/8 higher than the next bid. There is no follow through with the rest of the market. It looks like one buyer. Thus, the stock is now offered where that lonely bid once was. Unless of course, all of you have your accounts at HJMC. It is clearly directed buying.
