Absolutely agree. China is the key. NK lives or dies by China. China is to the NK what Israel is to the US.

If China ever wanted NK to stop messing with WMD, they could make it happen. All China would have to do is withdraw support for NK and join the UN Security Council in applying maximum pressure and they would crumble. But China doesn't want to do that, because NK is a major player in China's game of chess against the US. China wants the US distracted by NK, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc, because they can eat our lunch economically and build into a super power right under our nose as we are distracted. So of course, they won't solve the NK problem. They have us by the balls.

Likewise, if the US ever really wanted to solve the Palestinian issue, we could make it happen. All we'd have to do is withdraw all financial support from Israel and Palestine both and tell them they won't get another nickel until they strike a deal and I guarantee you both would find a way to make it happen. But we don't want to do that because Israel keeps the balance of power for us in the Middle East and gives us leverage in an area where we'd otherwise have none. For example, it keeps the Iranians scared, because if the rest of the world fails to act, Israel will bomb the shit out of Iran's nuclear facilities. And now Israel is more important than ever, since we eliminated Iran's biggest foe, which was Iraq. And I'll remind you, that it was the dimwit Bush who did that, which ended up being a strategically stupid thing to do, because now Iran is acting with impunity undistracted by their arch foe, Saddam.

None of these problems are rocket science. It always just boils down to political will within the country that has the most power to solve the problem. Unfortunately, no one is interested in really solving these problems, because everyone is more interested in the quest for power. It's the human condition.
